SIMULATED EMERGENCIES IN GENERAL PRACTICE
Run by CREATE Forth Valley and the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors
* Team from the Sim Centre come to your practice.
* Great for teambuilding, this can involve all practice staff, both clinical and administrative.
Format:
The prebrief: Whole team meets to discuss "rules of the game" and what you hope to get from the session. Chance for any questions.
Action: Patient actor approaches receptionist for help in a predetermined scenario and the team use emergency resources to "treat" the patient.
The debrief: Team comes together to talk about what went well and any suggestions for improvements.
This is non-judgemental, with a focus on teams and systems, not individuals and is informal and fun.
